Scheduled Reminders
Karma One lets you create reminders and scheduled tasks using plain, natural language. No need to navigate menus or fill out forms -- just tell the AI what you need and when.
How It Works
Simply describe what you want to be reminded about and when:
"Remind me to join the team standup tomorrow at 9am."
"Schedule a reminder to review the quarterly report every Friday at 3pm."
"Notify me in 30 minutes to check on the deployment."
The AI parses your request, creates the scheduled task, and confirms the details back to you.
Natural Language Scheduling
Karma One understands a wide range of time expressions. You do not need to use a specific format.
Supported Time Formats
| Expression Style | Examples | |-----------------|----------| | Relative time | "in 10 minutes", "in 2 hours", "tomorrow", "next Monday" | | Absolute time | "at 3:00 PM", "at 14:30", "on March 15 at 9am" | | Day references | "today", "tomorrow", "this Friday", "next Tuesday" | | Natural phrases | "end of day", "first thing in the morning", "this evening" | | Combined | "next Wednesday at 2:30 PM", "in 3 days at noon" |
Example Prompts
"Remind me to call the dentist tomorrow morning."
"Set a reminder for 5pm today to pick up groceries."
"Notify me on March 1st to renew the domain name."
"Remind me every Monday at 9am to check the analytics dashboard."
One-Time vs. Recurring Reminders
One-Time Reminders
These fire once at the specified time and are then completed:
"Remind me to submit the expense report by Friday at 5pm."
"Notify me in 45 minutes that the laundry is done."
Recurring Reminders
These repeat on a schedule you define:
"Remind me every day at 8am to take my vitamins."
"Set a weekly reminder for Monday and Thursday at 10am to review pull requests."
"Remind me on the 1st of every month to reconcile the budget."
Tip: To stop a recurring reminder, simply say "Cancel the daily vitamin reminder" or "Stop the Monday PR review reminder."
Notification Channels
Reminders can reach you through multiple channels depending on your configuration:
| Channel | Description | Setup Required | |---------|-------------|----------------| | App Push | Notification within the Karma One app | None -- works by default | | Telegram | Message sent to your linked Telegram account | Link your Telegram account in Settings |
Telegram Notifications
If you have connected your Telegram account to Karma One, reminders are automatically delivered as Telegram messages. This is especially useful for time-sensitive reminders since Telegram notifications are hard to miss.
To set up Telegram notifications:
- Go to Settings > Channels > Telegram.
- Follow the linking flow to connect your Telegram account.
- Once linked, all reminders will be delivered via Telegram in addition to the app.
Managing Existing Reminders
Viewing Reminders
"What reminders do I have?"
"Show me my upcoming scheduled tasks."
"List all my recurring reminders."
Modifying Reminders
"Change the standup reminder to 9:30am instead of 9am."
"Move the Friday report reminder to Thursday."
"Update the weekly review reminder to include a note about checking Jira."
Canceling Reminders
"Cancel the reminder about the dentist."
"Delete all my reminders for this week."
"Stop the recurring Monday morning reminder."
How Reminders Are Delivered
When a reminder fires, you receive a notification containing:
- The reminder text you specified
- The time it was scheduled for
- An option to snooze, reschedule, or dismiss
For recurring reminders, the next occurrence is automatically scheduled after each delivery.
Reminders vs. Autopilot
It is important to understand the difference between Scheduled Reminders and Autopilot (the avatar automation feature):
| Feature | Scheduled Reminders | Autopilot | |---------|-------------------|-----------| | Purpose | Notify you at a specific time | AI performs a task autonomously | | Action | Sends a notification | Executes AI-generated actions (research, summarize, write) | | Your involvement | You act on the reminder | The AI acts on your behalf | | Complexity | Simple time-based alerts | Goal-oriented, multi-step workflows | | Example | "Remind me to check the news at 8am" | "Every morning at 8am, summarize the top tech news and send it to me" |
Tip: If you want the AI to actually do something at a scheduled time (not just remind you), look into Autopilot or Daily Briefing instead.
Supported Scenarios
Work
"Remind me 15 minutes before my 2pm meeting to prepare the slides."
"Set a daily reminder at 5:30pm to log my hours."
Personal
"Remind me to water the plants every Sunday morning."
"Notify me on December 20th to buy holiday gifts."
Health
"Remind me to take a break every 2 hours."
"Set a daily reminder at 10pm to stop screen time."
Finance
"Remind me on the 25th of each month to pay the credit card bill."
"Notify me next Friday to review my investment portfolio."
Best Practices
- Be specific with times. "Tomorrow at 9am" is better than "tomorrow morning" for critical reminders.
- Use recurring reminders for habits. Let the AI handle the repetition so you can focus on execution.
- Combine with Telegram. For reminders that must not be missed, ensure Telegram is linked.
- Review regularly. Periodically ask "What reminders do I have?" to clean up outdated schedules.
