@Mention and Multi-Avatar Conversations

Karma One's @mention system lets you bring one or more avatars into a conversation by name. You can direct a question to a specific avatar or orchestrate a multi-avatar discussion where several avatars collaborate on the same topic.

@Single Avatar

To address a specific avatar, type @ followed by the avatar's name in your message. The mentioned avatar will respond using its own persona, knowledge base, and skill set.

@MarketAnalyst What are the key trends in the EV battery market this quarter?

This routes your message exclusively to the MarketAnalyst avatar, even if the conversation has a different default avatar assigned.

When to Use Single Mentions

  • You want a response from a particular avatar's perspective.
  • You need to invoke skills that are only available on a specific avatar.
  • You are in a general conversation but want one focused expert reply.

@Multi-Avatar Discussion

You can mention multiple avatars in a single message to start a multi-avatar discussion. Each mentioned avatar will respond in sequence, providing its own perspective on the topic.

@LegalCounsel @FinanceAdvisor @MarketAnalyst
Should we proceed with the acquisition of Company X?

In this example, three avatars each provide their analysis from their respective domains --- legal risk, financial viability, and market position.

How Multi-Avatar Discussion Works

  1. You send a message mentioning two or more avatars.
  2. Each avatar receives the full conversation context plus your message.
  3. Avatars respond one at a time, in the order they were mentioned.
  4. Each subsequent avatar can see the previous avatars' responses, enabling them to build on or challenge earlier points.

This creates a structured, multi-perspective dialogue within a single conversation thread.

Usage Method

Mentioning Avatars

| Action | Syntax | |---|---| | Mention one avatar | @AvatarName your message | | Mention multiple avatars | @Avatar1 @Avatar2 @Avatar3 your message | | Mention in the middle of a message | I'd like @ResearchBot to look into this |

Requirements

  • The avatar must exist in your account (either created by you or installed from the store).
  • You must spell the avatar name exactly as it appears in your avatar list.
  • Mentioned avatars use their own configured model, knowledge bases, and skills.

Scenarios

Brainstorming

Bring together avatars with different creative perspectives to generate diverse ideas.

@CreativeDirector @TechInnovator @CustomerInsight
Brainstorm 5 product ideas for our new wellness app feature.

Each avatar contributes ideas from its own angle --- creative design, technical feasibility, and customer demand.

Multi-Angle Analysis

Get a comprehensive analysis of a decision by engaging avatars that represent different stakeholder viewpoints.

@RiskAnalyst @GrowthStrategist @OperationsLead
Evaluate the proposal to expand into the Southeast Asian market.

Simulated Debate

Set up a structured debate where avatars argue different positions.

@Optimist @Skeptic @Moderator
Debate: Will autonomous vehicles be mainstream within 5 years?
@Moderator please summarize the key arguments from both sides at the end.

Tip: Assign one avatar the role of moderator to synthesize the discussion and produce a balanced summary.

Expert Consultation

Route a complex question through a chain of domain experts.

@DataScientist @DomainExpert @TechnicalWriter
Analyze this dataset, interpret the findings, and draft a report for stakeholders.

How Responses Appear

Multi-avatar responses are displayed sequentially in the conversation. Each response is clearly attributed to the avatar that produced it, with the avatar's name and icon shown alongside the message. This makes it easy to distinguish which avatar said what.

Interaction Between Avatars

Because each avatar in a multi-avatar discussion can see the previous responses:

  • Later avatars can agree with, challenge, or build upon earlier points.
  • You can explicitly ask one avatar to critique another's response.
  • The discussion naturally becomes richer with each additional perspective.

Best Practices

  • Choose avatars with complementary expertise. The value of multi-avatar discussion comes from diverse perspectives, not redundancy.
  • Limit to 3--5 avatars per discussion. More than five avatars in a single message can produce excessively long responses.
  • Give clear instructions. Tell each avatar what you expect --- analysis, critique, summary, or creative input.
  • Use a moderator avatar for debates or discussions where you need a synthesized conclusion.
  • Order matters. Avatars respond in the order mentioned. Place foundational analysis first and synthesis or moderation last.
  • Follow up selectively. After a multi-avatar round, you can @mention a single avatar to dive deeper into a specific point.
