How do I create a Karma One account?

Karma One supports three sign-up methods:

  • Email -- Enter your email address and create a password.
  • Apple Sign-In -- Use your Apple ID for one-tap registration.
  • Google Sign-In -- Use your Google account for one-tap registration.

After signing up you receive a free trial allowance and can start using the app immediately.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter the email address you used to register. A password reset email will be sent to your inbox. Click the link in the email to set a new password.

If you do not receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.

Can I use my account on multiple devices?

Yes. Your Karma One account works on iOS, Android, Web, and macOS (Karma Box) simultaneously. Conversations and settings sync automatically across all devices.

How do I update my profile?

Open Settings to change:

  • Display name and avatar
  • Language preference (English / Chinese)
  • Notification settings
  • Privacy options

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data, including conversations, uploaded files, knowledge bases, and avatar configurations. This action cannot be undone. See the Privacy and Security page for more details.


Using the AI

The AI is responding slowly. What can I do?

Response speed depends on several factors:

  1. Model selection -- Different models have different speeds. Claude Haiku is the fastest; Claude Opus is the most capable but slower.
  2. Tool usage -- If the AI needs to search the web, execute code, or call other tools, the response takes longer.
  3. Response length -- Longer answers require more generation time.
  4. Network conditions -- Ensure your internet connection is stable.

If you only need quick answers, try switching to a faster model.

The AI gave an inaccurate answer. How can I improve results?

Tips for getting better responses:

  • Provide context -- The more specific your prompt, the more accurate the answer.
  • Use a knowledge base -- Upload relevant documents as reference material for the AI.
  • Set a role -- Use the Avatar system to define the AI's area of expertise.
  • Break it down -- Split complex questions into smaller, focused prompts.
  • Ask for sources -- Request that the AI cite where its information comes from.
Good: "Based on the Q4 2025 earnings report I uploaded, analyze the year-over-year revenue trend."
Bad:  "Analyze the financials."

Which AI model should I choose?

If you are unsure which to pick, Claude Sonnet is a reliable default -- it balances capability and speed well.

What is the Avatar system?

Avatars are a core feature of Karma One. You can create different AI personas, each with its own:

  • Personality and role -- Professional consultant, writing assistant, coding partner, etc.
  • Knowledge base -- Bound reference documents specific to that avatar's domain.
  • Conversation history -- Independent chat memory per avatar.
  • Autopilot -- Scheduled automatic task execution.

Think of avatars as your "AI team" -- each member has a different specialty.

How does Avatar Autopilot work?

Autopilot lets an avatar execute tasks on a schedule without manual intervention:

  1. Open the avatar's conversation.
  2. Tap the Autopilot button.
  3. Define the task goals and execution frequency.
  4. Enable it, and the avatar begins working on schedule.

Common use cases:

  • Daily stock market tracking
  • Periodic competitor monitoring
  • Automated daily or weekly report generation
  • Scheduled data collection and analysis

Results are pushed to you via Telegram (if bound) and also appear in the avatar's conversation history.

Is there a conversation length limit?

Each conversation supports a very long context window (the exact limit depends on the model), but it is generally a good idea to start a new conversation when:

  • The topic changes significantly.
  • The conversation has been running for a long time and responses are slowing down.
  • You need a fresh start for a new task.

All past conversations are saved automatically and can be revisited at any time.

How do I export conversation content?

Karma One supports multiple export formats:

Can I use Karma One offline?

Karma One requires an internet connection for AI model inference, cloud tools, and syncing. Some features like reading cached conversations may work briefly offline, but full functionality requires connectivity.


Knowledge Base

File upload failed. What should I check?

The knowledge base search returns no results. Why?

Possible causes:

  1. File still processing -- Large files need time to be parsed and indexed. Wait until the file status shows "Ready."
  2. Query wording mismatch -- Try rephrasing your question with different keywords.
  3. Scanned image PDF -- PDFs that contain only scanned images may not have extractable text.
  4. Knowledge base not linked -- Confirm the current conversation is associated with the correct knowledge base.

Use the @ symbol in a conversation to specify which knowledge base to search.

How many files can I upload?

File limits depend on your subscription plan. Free accounts have a limited number of files and total storage. Pro and Enterprise plans offer significantly higher limits. Check your plan details in Settings > Subscription.

Is my knowledge base data secure?

Yes. Files uploaded to a knowledge base are:

  • Stored with encryption.
  • Accessible only by you and the avatars you authorize.
  • Never used for AI model training.
  • Deletable at any time.

Can I share a knowledge base with my team?

Yes. Knowledge bases can be attached to avatars, and avatars can be shared with team members. The knowledge base data is accessible to anyone who has access to the avatar.


Billing

What subscription plans are available?

Karma One offers several subscription tiers. Visit the Store page in the app for current pricing and plan details. The main differences between plans include:

  • Available AI models
  • Monthly conversation quota (Energy)
  • Knowledge base storage capacity
  • Advanced features (Autopilot, multi-channel connections, etc.)

What is "Energy"?

Energy is Karma One's usage unit. Each conversation consumes a certain amount of energy based on:

  • The AI model used (more capable models consume more energy)
  • Conversation length and complexity
  • Whether tools were invoked (web search, code execution, etc.)

You can view your current energy balance and consumption history in Settings.

What happens when I run out of energy?

  • Wait for reset -- Energy resets at the beginning of each billing cycle.
  • Upgrade your plan -- Higher-tier plans include more energy.
  • Purchase an energy pack -- Buy additional energy separately in the Store.

Do unused credits roll over?

Monthly energy allocations reset at the beginning of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Separately purchased energy packs do not expire.

How do I request a refund?

If you are unsatisfied with the service, you can request a refund within a reasonable period after purchase:

  • iOS -- Request through Apple's refund process.
  • Android -- Request through Google Play's refund process.
  • Web -- Contact customer support at support@karma.box.

Refund requests are typically processed within 5-7 business days.


Connections

How do I bind Telegram?

  1. Open Settings in Karma One.
  2. Go to Connections and find the Telegram section.
  3. Tap Bind Telegram.
  4. A unique link is generated. Tap it to open Telegram.
  5. Send /start in the bot chat to complete the binding.

Once bound, you can chat with Karma One directly in Telegram.

I bound Telegram but I am not receiving messages.

Check the following:

  • Confirm the binding status is active (visible in Settings).
  • Ensure Telegram notifications are enabled on your device.
  • Make sure you have not blocked the bot in Telegram.
  • Verify your internet connection is stable.

Can I connect my own Telegram bot?

Yes. In the Channel Bridge settings, you can configure a custom Telegram bot by providing your bot token. This is useful for organizations that want to use their own branded bot.

If your custom bot uses the same token as the managed Karma bot, the system will automatically resolve the conflict.

How do I configure other channels (WeChat, Email, etc.)?

Karma One supports multiple channel connections:

  • WeChat -- Connect through WeCom or WeChat Official Account.
  • Email -- Configure IMAP/SMTP for automatic email handling.
  • Custom channels -- Connect via API or Webhook.

My channel connection is not working. What should I check?

  1. Verify your credentials (bot token, API keys) are correct.
  2. Check that the bot has not been revoked or blocked on the platform.
  3. Ensure your server can reach the platform's API endpoints.
  4. Review the error message in the channel status indicator.
  5. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the channel.

Privacy and Security

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Karma One explicitly commits to never using your data for AI model training. Your conversations, uploaded files, and knowledge base contents are completely private.

What is Sovereign AI?

Sovereign AI is a feature that processes your AI requests entirely within infrastructure you control:

  • Local Sovereign AI (Karma Box) -- Data stays on your own device, fully offline capable.
  • Cloud Sovereign AI -- Data is processed on your own cloud servers, never touching third-party infrastructure.

Where is my data stored?

Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. For users and organizations with data residency requirements, Karma One offers:

  • Sovereign AI: On-premises deployment where all data stays within your infrastructure.
  • Regional hosting: Data centers in specific geographic regions upon request (Enterprise plan).

How do I delete my data?

You can delete data at any time:

  • Single conversation -- Swipe or long-press on a conversation to delete it.
  • Knowledge base files -- Delete specific files from the knowledge base manager.
  • All data -- Choose Delete Account in Settings to remove everything.

Data deletion is irreversible. Proceed with caution.

Is end-to-end encryption supported?

Yes. Karma One encrypts conversation content end-to-end so that only you can access it. Data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2+, and data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.


Technical Support

How do I report a problem?

You can reach us through:

  • In-app feedback -- Tap Feedback in Settings to submit an issue.
  • Email -- Send a message to support@karma.box.
  • Community -- Join the Karma One community forum or Discord for discussion and help.

The app crashes or shows a blank screen.

Try these steps in order:

  1. Restart the app -- Force-close and reopen it.
  2. Check for updates -- Make sure you are running the latest version.
  3. Clear cache -- Go to Settings and clear the app cache.
  4. Re-login -- Sign out and sign back in.
  5. Reinstall -- If nothing else works, uninstall and reinstall the app.
